Item Description
10-7/8x16-1/8" artboard has pen and ink original art for story page 9 of Bat Lash #5, published by DC Comics July 1969. Art is by noted DC artist Nick Cardy (1920-2013) and features six panels, showing Bat Lash being bitten by a poisonous snake, only for the issue's antagonist (Cardy's fellow comic artist) Sergio Aragonés to return the favor of Bat Lash having previously saved his life, now saving Bat Lash by cutting the wound and sucking out the snake's venom. Top margin has handwritten title, issue/page numbers and months of publication in black felt tip pen. Back has Comics Code Authority inkstamp and aged masking tape along top/bottom margins w/some traces along left/right. Artboard has pair of hole punches at top/bottom, showing aged masking tape on back. Artboard has even moderate aging and lower left corner shows obvious wear, w/corner piece missing and some surface paper wear on back. Fine overall, but art remains unaffected and if matted and framed, would make for nice display.
