Item Description
11.5x17.5" Bainbridge Illustration board features pen and ink/screentone original art for page 14 of Cerebus #78, published by Aardvark Sept. 1985. Art is by Cerebus creator Dave Sim and was for Odd Transformations Part Two and features nine panels, showing Cerebus waking up and drifting back to sleep in his bed. Sim's trademark use of heavy inks (second and third panels are completely blacked out) and screentone are on full display here, however only first and fourth through sixth panels feature original art, as seventh panel is pasted stat repeating art from sixth panel, which is then repeated in progressively smaller sized stats in last two panels. Margins are made of white tape. Top margin has printed "Cerebus No." and "Page No." line w/inked numbers in respective areas. Sim has inscribed "To Mary Ann - Best Wishes" above art and signing in black ink. Board has slight warp, but art remains clean and Exc.
