Item Description
Former and future Major Leaguers mix with Negro Leaguers and Caribbean stars in the issue produced for the 1946-47 Winter League season. Issued as four-card sheets and printed in color on thin paper. This hand-cut card measures 2.25x3". Player identification is on card back along w/career notes and sponsor advertising. An album was issued in conjunction w/this series. Dihigo is widely considered to be the greatest two-way ballplayer in Negro/Cuban League history, excelling both on the mound as well as at the plate and on the field. Elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1977. At time of cataloging, PSA pop report indicates that this is one of only four graded by PSA w/only two higher.
