Item Description
1.5" dia. celluloid button featuring Dick Caulkins art. Front and center is Buck Rogers w/Dr. Huer looking over his shoulder. Above Buck is a small rocketship and a mountain peak is to left of him. From 1936 by unknown issuer but perhaps issued by local newspaper to promote the strip. Surface oxidation on about half of the metal back. Front has scattered staining, more around rim/rim curl than the image area. Image remains strong as does the blue bkg. All of this is on the button paper, the celluloid covering has high gloss finish and shines. VG. We know of just four examples w/three of those in similar lower grade condition. Our most recent sale of this rarity was in 2019 when we sold the only known high grade example for $2,764. Among the rarest of all Buck Rogers items. A must have for even the most advanced Buck and/or character pinback button collection. Gene Seger Buck Rogers Collection.
