Item Description
1.5" dia. celluloid button featuring Dick Caulkins art. Very detailed illustration of Buck in uniform piloting his spaceship w/small mountain peaks along the bottom edge. Tiny ©1937 at bottom. Unknown issuer but perhaps issued by local newspaper to promote the strip. We know of only three examples and all have very extensive dark brown stain over almost the entire button surface and well as oxidation to the metal back. However, stain is on the button paper, the celluloid covering has high gloss finish and shines. Even the example shown in Hake's Pop Culture Guide is in this condition. Here is an item we are selling for its extreme rarity over the low grade condition. Among the rarest of all Buck Rogers items. A must have for even the most advanced Buck and/or character pinback button collection, even as is. Gene Seger Buck Rogers Collection.
