Item Description
21-7/8x28.25" thin cardboard poster for April 29, 1960 concert that took place at the Memorial Auditorium in Chattanooga, TN featuring Dee Clark, Hank Ballard and The Midnighters, Big Maybelle, The Drifters, Barrett Strong, Pete Diggs, Hank Moore and his Orchestra as well as Cornell Muldrow and his Orchestra. All but last two acts listed here are depicted w/photos along w/one or two song titles by their names; Barrett Strong has his hit "Money" listed under his name, a song that would find additional fame when covered by The Beatles and The Flying Lizards. Top has additional inkstamped "Show" and "Dance" notations where marquee and poster design merge, likely added by local promoter. Poster was printed by Globe Poster of Baltimore, MD and shows obvious wear, w/four .5" staple pulls at top marque area at left and right and slightly affecting names of Barrett Strong at lower left and Pete Diggs at lower right (these two areas have .5" holes). Margins show smoke shadowing along upper left, top right corner and bottom left margins. VG overall.
