Item Description
8.5x8.5" art covers sheet without white margins. The painting re-creates the iconic November 3, 1948 photo of newly-elected President Harry S. Truman displaying for the press a copy from the early edition of the Chicago Daily Tribune with erroneous headline "Dewey Defeats Truman." In Campbell's painting, the Chicago Daily Tribune November 2006 headline reads: "Dems Defeat GOP/Control House And Senate." Unfortunately for George W, this time the headline mirrors reality.
