Item Description
5.25x7.5" book with 96 pages. Printed by Correspondents Institute of America in 1910. Zim, otherwise known as Eugene Zimmerman, was a prolific cartoonist who worked for Puck and Judge magazines in the 1880s through 1912. Book contains photo of Zimmerman with several caricatures of him appearing throughout book along with step-by-step art processes. Also contains some black stereotypical art of the era. Back cover of book features another Zim caricature. Corner tip wear and aging though original cloth ties remain. Fine w/Exc. pages. Comes with 3x5" card with original pen and ink illustration of young boy with pig and chicken and inscribed "Yours Truly Zim Horseheads New York N.Y.," where Zimmerman eventually settled with his wife. Blank card reverse contains printed statement from Zimmerman dated Sept. 18, 1911. Lightly aged and VF.
