16.5x23.25" hardcover library volume collects issues of Missouri newspapers from Jan. 1 - Feb. 28, 1946. Headlines of note include the Bikini Atoll atomic tests with the Nevada and Saratoga, several articles dealing with Rear Admiral Husband Kimmel and the Pearl Harbor Committee, Neuremburg War Trials and an editorial piece on the 1904 Louisiana Purchase Expo. Comics include Terry And The Pirates, Dick Tracy, Abbie & Slats, Moon Mullins, Joe Palooka, Winnie Winkle and Smilin' Jack. Photos depict Babe Ruth, Joe Louis, The Marx Brothers and several depict President Truman, Dwight Eisenhower and Winston Churchill. Ads for movies include "Bells Of St. Mary's, Spellbound" and "House Of Dracula." Also included is ad for Lone Ranger radio program. Volume also contains burlesque ads as well as several Abbott & Costello ads. The pin-up art of George Petty is featured on a few Ice-Capades ads. Volume has several clippings and a few tears.
