Item Description
14.5X23" lay-out pages for Planet X story "The Pearl". Planet Comics was published intermittantly by Fiction House magazines between 1940 and 1954. This unfinished, unpublished art features pencil and ink art showcasing various sci-fi elements including spaceships, observatories, mermaid princess and half-man/half-reptile species. Most art is finished in ink with a few details left in pencil. First page has word balloons with penciled text, the rest have been inked. Moderate aging/dust soiling along margins. Fine. Interesting note: back of last page has inked text "I Must Practice Lettering And Make Up For The Time I've Wasted - AABCDEEFGHIJKLMNOPQURSTUVWXYZ - Practice Makes Perfect...I Find That When You Don't Concentrate On Each Letter They Automically I Must Begin To Letter..." Nice insight into creative process. Art areas remain VF-Exc.
