Item Description
Lot of ten 6.25x9-3/8" paper envelopes with "U.G. Stonebrook & Son. Sac. City, IA" store imprint on each bag. Envelopes have images of Buster Brown hugging dog (not Tige) with images of boys and girls playing on swing and jumprope. Buster is also seen on back with roller skates. c. 1920s. Verse on bags reads "Happy Boys And Happy Girls; Babies, Too With Flaxen Curls; Watch Them Romp And Jump And Play, In Buster Brown's The Live Long Day." Back goes on to read "The Only Shoes A Child Should Wear, Are Ones Made With The Utmost Care, That They Protect And Keep Feet Strong, And Never Hurt Them All Day Long. That's Why The Shoes Of Buster Brown, With Shaping Last Have One Renown. Have You Ever Tried To Skate Down To School And Not Be Late? Can You Skate And Not Fall Down? Oh, Yes, With Shoes Of Buster Brown." Scattered aging and wear. Most VF overall.
