Item Description
Charming 4x4x7.5" glazed ceramic lamp base of Elsie wearing daisy necklace seated in chair w/open storybook and baby calf on her lap. c. 1940s, likely following her famous popularity at the New York World's Fair. Cord and lamp socket are gone but easily replaced. Ceramic is bright and glossy w/no chips or cracks. Comes w/rare original shade that has nursery rhyme text and images but much of the dark red paint is off the images representing Jack Be Nimble, Red Riding Hood, Jack and The Beanstalk, The Three Bears. Top edge has 1" tear, small creasing and internal wire support is partially loose at top edge. Overall shade is VG and only the second we've seen.
