Item Description
This 6.75x8-7/8" letter on White House stationery is dated June 8, 1992. It is signed "George Bush" and comes with Hake's COA and a letter of authenticity from James Spence Authentications. The letter is to Mariano Lucca (see many political-related Lucca Collection items between #32-58 plus 88-89 and the list of other Lucca Collection item numbers in the catalogue subject index or website featured collections link) who headed the move to convince Congress and FDR to make Columbus Day a federal holiday. In this letter, President Bush's paragraph reads: "A Belated Thank You For The Plaques That You Sent In Commemoration Of The 500th Anniversary Of The First Historic Journey To The Americas By Christopher Columbus. I appreciate Your Remembering Me With This Special Gift." Sheet does not have folds and Mint as sent with one 1/16" black dot seemingly from Bush's pen on right edge at bottom.
