Item Description
Each is 7/8" (24mm) in brass. Harrison is listed as DeWitt/Sullivan 1840-54 although not pictured. It pictures a civilian bust of Harrison to three-quarters left which is quite different from the typical military bust shown in profile. Front includes his name and date of birth while reverse has the classic log cabin design with the slogan "The Peoples Choice In The Year 1840." Exc. with slight rainbow patina on the obverse. The VanBuren is listed as DeWitt/Sullivan 1840-8. This is also catalogued as Hake #2023 with a 2004 value of $150. VanBuren is shown in a profile facing right below his name and above a small wreath. Reverse shows eagle with inscription "Independent Treasury July 4. 1840." VF with original brass luster remaining around the outer edges. A scarce pair from 1840.
