Item Description
Large and impressive solid plaster with 4.5" dia. base and stands 13.5" tall. This figurine was for store use only to advertise/promote the series of Disney figurines produced in the 1940s by English company Leonardi. This figurine depicts an excited Donald holding a flag which reads "Disneyland By Leonardi." The company's use of the word "Disneyland" pre-dates the theme park and was used on other products throughout the 1940s. Leonardi produced exceptional figurines including some modeled after those by Zaccagnini (see next item #1967). Piece has moderate all-over scattered paint flakes plus large area of missing paint on his right foot. Also appears to have some scattered paint touch-ups. While the paint wear is evident, not greatly distracting when viewed straight-on and some simple paint restoration would certainly enhance the piece. Overall still structurally sound and Fine. Rare, the only one we've seen in our 42 years.
