Item Description
26x34.5" frame contains illustration board that has been matted to 17.5x25.5” and has classic patriotic image of smiling full-figure Superman in lead, red, blue and yellow colored pencils holding large American flag. This re-creation is by Joe Shuster, Superman's co-creator and artist and features Shuster's take on Jack Burnley’s cover to “Superman” #24 from Sep./Oct., 1943. Art is signed with text "©D.C. COMICS INC." with Shuster adding his signature in blue pencil at right. c. 1980s. Shuster only did a few cover re-creations in his lifetime and this is one of the largest. A rare opportunity to own an exceptional one-of-a-kind original in N. Mint condition by the legendary Founding Father of comic book superhero art.
