Item Description
5x10.25" image area on 9x14.5" slightly translucent off-white paper. c. 1955. Color ad designed for Scotch brand cellophane tape. Lead and colored pencil art promotes set of 18 stand-up 3-D plastic ball players. Text at top of stand reads "Free! Major League Baseball Player - Three-Dimensional Plastic Standups With Rolls Of Scotch Brand Cellophane Tape." Die-cut artwork shows umpire, catcher and batter who has just hit the ball. In the center of the stand are images of the players w/red text that reads "18 Major League Stars In The Series." Players' names are not specified due to small scale. Bottom of stand shows an image of the umpire, catcher and base runner sliding into home plate. Text on lower section reads "Major League Baseball Player 3-D Plastic Standups Free With Rolls Of Scotch Brand Cellophane Tape." Has horizontal crease, missing 1/8" paper sliver on right edge, lt. tanning and a few tiny tears across top and bottom edges, where once rubber cemented to a backing board. This does not affect art area, which remains clean and N. Mint. This is a file copy from the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold. Unique.
