Item Description
3.5x5.5”. Unused. c. early 1930s. First shows black couple posed behind worn wood bar. Numerous advertisements appear behind them including: 7-Up, Grand Prize, Grand Prize Lager, Grand Prize Bach Beer along with a “Merry Christmas” sign at upper left corner surrounded by hanging Christmas trim. Second is interior photo of bar with same couple accompanied by 2 men and 2 women. A stove appears in the center of the room with a single light bulb hanging from the ceiling. Both photos are clean, detailed. A great look into a rural southern bar serving blacks. Both have slight trace of corner wear. Exc. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake’s COA.
