Item Description
Lot of two 3.5x5.5”. Postally used 1909. Exterior shows magnificent cigar store Indian in front of cigar/tobacco/stationery/second hand book store. Owner stands with hand on Indian’s shoulder. Girl poses with crossed arms on right side. Owner’s name “F.L. Comstock” writes length text on back of both postcards. Interior shot with close-up of Comstock behind counter with rack of postcards Both are addressed to friend in Sweden with interesting, lengthy text of upcoming visit. Text of one card written in Swedish. Interesting content of text and of storefront image. A nice, interesting pair from Brooklyn, NY. Both show lt. corner wear. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake’s COA.
