Item Description
Sloppy Joe’s was a famous Cuban bar frequented mostly by Americans. Items offered 1930s-40s. First are two 2.5x4” cocktail manuals. 64 pages. Photos of Sloppy Joe and partner. Dated 1931-32/33. Covers show lt. staining. Fine. Next is 2x3.75” single-sided business card. Exc.. Followed by 7.75x10x1.5” tall candy box. Real photo lid shows great overall bar scene with extensive whiskey stock. Great detail of bar interior. Numerous small lines in image area, only visable in reflected light,wear to foil covering at 2 corners & moderate wear to foil covering of 2 sides. Box still displays Fine. Last is group of four 1940s souvenir photos 7.25x9.5”. Bar scenes with happy patrons, one includes 2 men holding oversized display bottle of "Sloppy Joe's Rum". Light wear to thick mounts & image areas. Still VF. An interesting group. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake’s COA.
