This space toy was issued in a number of different versions and this is one of the more interesting varieties. Toy is 4.5" tall w/8" dia. and comes in box w/colorful lid. 1970s by Chi Lung Toy Industrial Co. Ltd., made in Taiwan. Box has scattered lt. wear but VF. Toy's body is hard plastic on the bottom half, top half is tin litho and includes names of "United States/NASA" plus American flags. Also has simulated hatch doors and exhaust ports. Under plastic dome is astronaut w/vinyl head surrounded by controls and w/antenna behind him. Around the outside of the dome on the ship's body are six colored plastic disks. Toy works and travels around w/bump-and-go action, has flashing lights, produces a loud pinging sound. The interior section spins as the antenna rotates. Great action. N. Mint.
