Item Description
8-1/8x10” vintage bw publicity still for Nat Towles and His Orchestra. Shows the jazz musician and Big Band bandleader behind “NBC” radio microphone. Popular New Orleans musician, Towles’ band is considered one of the greatest territory bands of all times by his contemporaries. Signed in blue ink “6/8/44 To Conchita From Nat Towles.” Towles died in 1962. Scattered handling wear along margins with some corner tip wear. Towles’ manager’s name at bottom right has been crossed out in ink with some st. smudging. VF overall. Scarce autograph. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
