Item Description
1.25x25” nice quality vintage wood frame holds “Map Of Connecticut Issued In Commemoration Of The State’s Tercentenary 1635-1935.” Map shows highways and historical references with 33 numbered 1” dia. circles of John Held Jr. art showing historical scenes from Connecticut’s history. Some include Civil War General John Sedgewick, the first law school in America, the first theological school in America, Revolutionary War Putnam campground as well as various images of Native Americans including the Mohegan, Pequot, Podunk, Paugussett, Agawam and other tribes. Partial key comes along but just Good. c. 1933. ©The Aetna Casualty & Surety Co. Map has fold lines as issued and evenly aged. Lower left margin has some moisture staining in margins, not affecting map graphics. Some scattered soiling on CT./NY. border. Fine/VF display, further complimented by exceptional frame.
