Item Description
6” tall glass jar with paper label and tin lid. 1930s by Glaser, Crandell Co. Lid features portrait of Mickey with text “Feed Mickey For Wealth/Eat Jam For Health.” Coin slot appears across Mickey’s mouth but unlike nearly every example found, still intact is tin piece reading “Push Out” that was meant to be discarded. Lid has moderate scattered spotting. VG. Sides of jar have raised full figure images of Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and Horace. Still intact (again, almost always missing) is the wrap-around beautifully illustrated paper label. Depicts Mickey and Pluto making and eating sandwiches, Minnie is shown bringing them a jar of this jam, Horace looks on. Label on back of text has title “Be A Mickey Mouse Banker.” Text notes how when jar was empty the label was to be removed. Label has moderate scattered wear/aging with some small stains and some color rubs including to Mickey’s face. Top center has .25” “V”-shaped piece missing from label. Label overall still Fine while jar itself is Exc. From the Michael J. Stern Collection.
