Item Description
Each is 3.5x5.5”. First has image of Newburger photographer store in nice wooden Victorian building with large sign “Post-Cards Of Autos & Sea” showing men on sidewalk in front and 3 women on second floor porch. Unused postcard has penciled note on back “Asbury Park, NJ.” Second card is postmarked Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Aug. 16, 1907. Addressed to recipient in Oneida, N.Y. with ink text at left from owner, “This Is My Place Of Business How Do You Like The Looks Of It – Can You Me By My Graceful Pose J. Wilson.” Front has nice image of “Adirondack Souvenir Baazar” showing 2 men at each side of store entrance along with 3 women and dog. Numerous postcards are shown around entrance and teddy bears can be seen in store window. First card has barely noticeable lt. handling crease at lower right. Second card has st. fade with bit of show-through from cancellation mark on reverse. Overall Fine. Interesting images. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake’s COA.
