21.25x25” wood frame with archival mat has 15.5x18.5” opening revealing classic photo of Ali when he was known as Cassius Clay standing over Sonny Liston who is lying on the canvas. Upper right has bold 3.5” long bold gold ink signature. Classic photo was taken by noted sports photographer Neil Leifer. Originally photographed in full color, the photo was taken at the 1965 Lewiston, ME re-match against Sonny Liston. Ali retained his heavyweight championship title after knocking out Liston in the first round. Mint as professionally framed. Superb large piece for display. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake’s COA.
