Item Description
Lot of two. First is 4.5x7" advertising trade card for grocery and provisions store in East Boston. Powderly image hangs at upper right behind man at table cutting fabric and woman seated at sewing machine. Bottom text reads "By Industry We Thrive." Blank reverse with four small repairs on back. Powderly was a Knights of Labor leader c. 1890. Fine. Second is 4.75x6.5" cardboard sign with detailed graphic of standing laborer and text "We Guarantee 'A New Garment For Every Unsatisfactory One'/Union Labor/Key To Success." Graphic at lower left shows buffalo standing behind a pan handle with Uncle Sam in center of pan. Text around Sam reads "Trademark/Pan American Guaranteed Clothing/Manufactured Exclusively By Wile Bros & Weill/Buffalo." 1903 copyright at bottom. Lt. surface dust. Blank reverse. VF.
