Item Description
12.25x26.75" laminated wood frame has plastic title plate on front reading “The Cisco Kid by Jose Luis Salinas Nov. 12, 1953". Frame has double archival mat revealing original art with 5 3/8x20" India ink image area with three panels. Cisco is standing at foot of bed as man with bandaged head points at him and says “Cisco, Is It True That You Are Wanted By Three Sheriffs?” and Cisco answers “No, Senor, That Is Not True.” He lights a cigarette in panel two and says “Six Sheriffs Are After Me!”. Third panel has pretty girl crying and looking at him saying “Oh...Cisco...” as heavyset man grins at left. Art is signed at lower right by noted Cisco Kid comic strip artist Jose Luis Salinas with date “11-12". Art is complete with King Features Syndicate tag in panel two. First and third panels have applied zipatone shading which has yellowed with age, otherwise art is Exc. A superb example by Salinas who drew this comic strip from 1951 to 1968. Ready for display.
