Item Description
c.1965. 3 7/8x8.75" humorous Hallmark card has printed cartoon on front with couple pulling on wishbone with text “We’re Wishing” and opens to read “You A Speedy Recovery!!”. 4x4.75" area on inside includes three ink and colored pencil drawings. Includes Floyd Gottferdson drawing of sad looking Mickey saying “Darn!” signed “Floyd G.”. Dick Huemer self-caricature with text “Yeah!” signed "Huem" and smiling Donald Duck signed “Donald Duck And Frank Grundeen”. Card is also signed in ink by Manuel Gonzales, FrankV. Reilly, George Wheeler, Mike Arens and left side has ink note from May Weigele . Floyd Gottfredson worked on the Mickey Mouse comic strip from 1930 to 1970. Dick Huemer began his animation career in 1916 and began working for Disney in 1933. Manuel Gonzales was noted for his comic strip work on the Sunday Mickey Mouse page. Frank Reilly was head of the Comic Strip Department at Disney from 1946 to 1975. Frank Grundeen worked on the Donald Duck comic strip from 1967 to 1976. Card has been cut in half through center scene and tapped back together on reverse with three strips of clear tape. Fine. Art and autograph image area will mat and frame to Near Exc. appearance.
