Item Description
8.5x11.5" hard cover c.1990 published by Mouse Works has nice front cover art of young Bambi smiling at butterfly near his tail. Book has bold black ink signature in 3.75x4" area on first blank inside page “For Lindsey From: Ward Kimball”. Although Kimball did not work on Bambi he put his ink initials with an arrow pointing towards characters he did work on, on inside front cover. Initials point to Pinocchio, Donald Duck, Dumbo, Mickey Mouse, Dopey, and the mice from Cinderella. He also put a question mark pointing towards Bambi. Back cover of book has original store price sticker at lower right, otherwise book is Exc. Kimball joined the Walt Disney Studios in 1934 and retired in 1972. Among the many memorable characters he brought to life were Jiminy Cricket, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum in Alice in Wonderland, and Lucifer the Cat in Cinderella. He also directed two Academy Award-Winning short subjects titled “Toot, Whistle, Plunk and Boom” and “It’s Tough to be a Bird”. Comes with Hake’s COA.
