8.5x11" typewritten letter c. 1960s on "Mickey Spillane Productions" letterhead to newspaper columnist and interviewer Hy Gardner. Contents include: asking Gardner to send a quote to publisher E.P. Dutton and an upcoming appearance on the Cavett Show. Fourth paragraph includes "Sometimes I Hit Myself For Ever Having Gotten Out Of The Comic Books. At Least There Only The Kids Knew You And Kids Never Give You Any Trouble. At Least Not Your Own." Letter has interesting insight and humor from the best selling author of "Kiss Me, Deadly; I, The Jury; The Deep" and other best sellers. Signed in pencil "Mickey". Blank top margin edge is lightly tanned, body of letter is Exc. Comes with a signed certificate of authenticity from Mrs. Hy Gardner and Hake's COA.
