Item Description
Two items. 3x6" stiff paper tag for "N.Y.K. Line" Japanese ship has been signed in ink by "George L. Kelly" in proper place and he has also written "San Francisco" in destination area. Reverse side has Japanese text. Comes with 5.75" dia. paper label designed like baseball which includes text "Major League Tour Of Japan 1931". Both items have trace of lt. wear with a few lt. creases. Luggage tag is VF and label is unused and Exc. The team was co-managed by Herb Hunter and sports writer Fred Leib and the roster included Lou Gehrig, Lefty Grove, Mickey Cohrane, and Rabbit Maranville. George Kelly played utility. Both items are from the George Kelly Estate and back of label has his ink stamp. See previous item #1316. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
