Item Description
Felt patch is 4.5" dia. with bat logo in center. c. 1930s and comes with same era 4.75x6-5/8" glossy photo showing four players kneeling and six standing with same patch clearly visible on a few uniforms. Photo has ink date of 1937 on reverse along with several player's ink signatures. Second photo is 4x5" matte finish showing players wearing "Presidente 1952 Batista" uniforms standing solemnly watching flag being raised over Bacardi field along w/group of soldiers standing at attention. Patch has lt. dust soil. VF. First photo has yellowed with age and has several bits of paper from scrapbook removal on front and reverse side has moisture marks. Just Good. Second photo has lt. dust soil. Fine. Facund Bacardi emigrated to Cuba in 1830 and set up a distillery with his brother in 1862 which eventually lead to the international fame of Bacardi rum. Interesting group. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes Hake's COA.
