Item Description
2.25x6" with celluloid cover over three cardboard ink blotter sheets. A few random ink marks on the reverse of the back sheet. The celluloid with wire ears which holds the sheets together has age spotting around its symbolic letter "F" representing the company name "Fidelity Trust Company" located in Phila. The celluloid cover carries the 1906 patent of the maker W&H. While women may not have had the vote when this piece was issued this bank was proud of the special treatment they gave to women including the phrase "Only New Money Paid To Women" and they were proud of their location "In The Heart Of The Shopping District." Plus they offered "Parlor, Retiring Rooms And Telephone For Their Especial Use." Only example we've seen of a celluloid covered blotter appealing so directly for women's business.
