Item Description
Lot of three pieces for proposed premium tie-in campaign between Post's Raisin Bran and local theaters for the 1951 Columbia Pictures Captain Video serial. None of these items were every actually produced. There are a pair of mock-up pieces including 5-1/4" long Ray Blow Gun and 2" dia. Pointer Disk. The gun is white cardboard w/design in pencil. Barrel and end of gun have four separate diecut circular disk attachments although these are bent and creased. The pointer disk is apparently the top piece of a larger item and is intended for measuring miles between Earth and probably planets but not specified. This has art in black ink and red watercolor w/printed text in bw "When At Nearest Point/Earth From Miles." Both pieces still VF. Final item is a 4x5" glossy bw photo picturing mock-up of the "Capt. Video Whirlojet" Humming Spaceship as well as a paper sheet w/mock-up art for a "Captain Video Senior Ranger" button. Entire lot is unique. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold, accompanied by a letter to that effect from Gordon Gold.
