1-1/8" (29mm) with rim hole as made. Front reads "Stephen A. Douglas/Popular Sovereignty" while reverse reads "Herschel. V. Johnson. Non-Intervention." The Douglas ferro has many fine craze lines but the emulsion lays perfectly flat and is 100% complete. The lines are apparent only in reflected light and viewed normally the front of the piece displays essentially Mint. The Johnson side ferro does not have the craze lines and this side also displays essentially Mint with full luster. Although just a little larger than the standard 25mm sizes, this size with slogans is much rarer than typical Douglas ferro. See following John Bell mate.
