Item Description
Like the previous item this is another piece from "St. Paul" as denoted by the celluloid panel in the heavy brass luster white metal bar pin which suspends an rwb ribbon with gold text joining to a 2-1/8" colorful jugate button. Celluloid on the city name panel has a little toning and spotting but not too serious. The text is fully readable and in addition to the club name states "Inauguration/Washington, D.C./March 4, 1901." The celluloid is totally bright and clean although the areas above each head has the gold color just a tone darker than the surrounding gold areas. The item is complete with its W&H backpaper. The "Original Roosevelt Rough Riders Club" was formed in St. Paul in April of 1900 - see three rare buttons from this group as items #248-250.
