Auction #204 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1446 in auction 204
Item Description
This exceedingly rare 1.25" button uses the same photo of TR as on #248 and with even sharper contrast, but with a different backpaper crediting "Golling's Photo Studio And Button Factory, 93 E. 7th St., St. Paul, Minn." Three circles of text read in full starting with the outer rim: "For Mayor, F. B. Doran, 1902./Honest Government." The middle circular line of text reads "The Original Roosevelt Club Of America." The inner circle of text reads "St. Paul Organized April 24 1900." Showing only a trifle even in reflected light is a .25" light hairline scratch upper left of his hat plus a couple of much smaller and essentially microscopic marks, again showing only in reflected light. Condition of the button is NM and it displays Mint. This is the only example known to us. See previous and following items.
