Glenn Jr." on her letterhead thanking correspondent and including text "We Realize That The National Space Program Is More Than A Family Affair For The Astronauts Who Fly The Missions, And In Accepting Your Good Wishes We Do So In Behalf Of All The Thousands Who Have Worked So Hard To Make Project Mercury A Success", handwritten note in ballpoint pen signed "Mrs. John Glenn Claire Glenn" including text "At Present We Cannot Mail Out Any Of John's Campaign Material". Group also includes 1962 commemorative booklet with eight pages, four page high quality reprint of Glenn's remarks before Congress including photos of all seven major astronauts of the time including Glenn, two small candid photos of Glenn moving out of house, 8x10" January 21, 1962 NASA photo showing Glenn running on Cocoa Beach, 1.75" "Well Done, Col. Glenn First American In Orbit" cello button, "Glenn Democrat for U.S. Senate" bumper sticker & color postcard along with two small "Glenn" litho tabs. Rest of group consists of extensive newspaper and magazine clippings on John Glenn through the years. Clippings show some wear but other items are VF/Exc. Quite comprehensive and interesting. Historic. From the collection of newspaper editor Harry McLaughlin and comes with Hake's COA.
