Images include Dempsey talking with sports broadcaster Tom Manning at WTAM Microphone, in catchers outfit squatting, and shaking hands with Cleveland Indian first baseman Lew Fonseca. Photos are Exc. with sharp, clear images. Photographer Louis Van Oeyen (1865-1946) was the first newspaper staff photographer in Cleveland. The noted photographer covered politics, disaster, crime, scandal and sports but his greatest love was baseball. He was named the official photographer of the American League of Professional Baseball in 1908, and then for the World Series until 1922. Wonderful crossover item for boxing and baseball fans.
