Item Description
c.late 1960s for General Mills Cereal Premiums which were never produced. Five art-boards, each 9.75x12 3/8" have designs for six different characters glued in place in center. Sizes range from 8 to 8.5" tall. Cap’n Crunch design is drawn in litho crayon and colored pencil on sheet of vellum which has been cut out and applied to thin white plastic bag which has been neatly cut out to make actual hand puppet. Some lt. wear around edges with some tanning at bottom. Near Fine. Remaining figures are done on various sheets of colored paper which have been cut out and glued in place to form image of figure which has been drawn in India ink with character name hand-lettered in fiber tip pen on hat at top. Characters include Alfie, Brunhilde, Carlyle, Dave, and Seadog. White areas of Alfie image have bit of show through from glue on reverse, otherwise images are bright and Near Exc. Reverse side of art board has gold foil “ A Creation of Sam Gold Premium King “ crown sticker. Wonderful designs. From the archives of premiumc creators Sam & Gordon Gold, accompanied by a letter to that effect from Gordon Gold.
