See Steamboat Willie production art by Ub Iwerks # 2197. Two sheets, each 9.5x12" c.1928 go together to form combined lead pencil image of Mickey and Minnie in cockpit of runaway plane with her tugging at his shorts. First sheet with Mickey and Minnie has 4" wide image area, second sheet with image of out-of-control plane has 4.25x9.5" lead image area. First sheet has #304 and #368 at lower right corner and second sheet has #304 at lower right corner. First sheet has ink stamp number at upper right corner 209. Both sheets have lt. margin edge aging, second sheet has very faint 1" crease at lower right but image areas on both will mat and frame to Near Exc.appearance.Truly historic original art for the very first Mickey Mouse cartoon ever made. Cartoon was produced in 1928 and released on March 17, 1929 making it the third Mickey Mouse cartoon ever shown in theaters. The storyline was inspired by Lindbergh’s solo plane flight from New York to Paris in 1927.
