Item Description
From same set as item #1258. Card front reads "Merito Acosta, Marianao B.B." Strong, bold image. Acosta was an outfielder in Major League Baseball who played five seasons for the Philadelphia Athletics and Washington Senators from 1913-1918. He played winter baseball in the Cuban League from 1913 to 1925 and was also a long-time manager and part-owner of the Havana Cubans. Acosta was elected to the Cuban Baseball HOF in 1955. Designated by SGC as being from the "Richard Merkin Collection" and comes with Hake's COA.
