Item Description
Each is 9x12" sheet of Hammermill management bond c. 1930s. First three sheets are in lead and colored pencil and fourth is in lead pencil. First has 4.25" tall image of smiling stereotypical black mammy cook, second sheet has three images of elves including one which is 3.25" tall full figure laughing along with small image of pig, third sheet has four images of little girls with long blonde hair in various outfits, each approx. 3" tall and fourth sheet has 14 different images of various Arabian-type characters wearing cloaked costumes. Several hold long rifles, one holds pistol. Last sheet is dated 1937 in pencil at lower right. Sheets have some aging around edges, sheet with girls has glue stain on bottom half. Images themselves are clean and bright and all will mat and frame to near Exc. appearance. All are unsigned but by Horvath who worked at the Disney Studios from 1934 to 1937 on everything from advertising to character designs and gags for over fifty Silly Symphonies and Mickey Mouse shorts. Wonderful examples by a gifted animator.
