Item Description
First is 8-1/8x10.75" softcover program with 40 pages has wrap around front cover with specialty art by Will Eisner showing The Spirit relaxing by pool being approached by nerdy comic book dealer. Front cover is signed at upper left "Jack Kirby" in felt tip pen. First page has a tribute to Jerry Siegel written by Jack Kirby and is autographed in black ink "Best Wishes, Gary From Your Friend Jerry Siegel". Other autographs signed in ink include: "Stan Lee '75, Gil Kane, To Gary - Only The Best - George Powell, To Gary From Bob Clampett, Brent Anderson". Book is loaded with wonderful specialty art and most signatures are on those images. Jack Kirby's signature is a bit light, otherwise book is Fine/VF. Second is 5-3/8x8.5" stiff paper booklet with 16 pages issued for August 8, 1987 Jack Kirby surprise party at Hotel San Diego in conjunction with Comic-Con has wonderful specialty art throughout including Joe Sinnott centerfold, Sergio Aragones "Groo", Will Eisner at the drawing board, and Newsboy Legion character by Dave Stevens. Blank inside back cover has specialty original art by Alfredo Alcala, Ted McKeever, and Terry Beatty. Booklet is wrinkled with some creasing. VG/Fine. Both had extremely limited distribution, especially the Kirby birthday book which likely only had 100 or so printed.
