Item Description
3.5x5.5" printed by C. E. Wheelock & Co. Peoria, IL. made in Germany. 13 players are shown in uniform with man wearing suit in center and baseball equipment in foreground and suitcases at lower left and right with team name on front of each. Text at right side notes "Established 1897. Only Once On Earth." Trace of lt. scattered wear with some lt. dust soil and a few lt. handling creases. Unused. VG/Fine. The exhibition team had its first winning season in 1898 and by 1914 had won 1237 games with 336 losses and 11 ties. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
