Item Description
12.75x20" archival matt has 8-5/8x16" opening revealing sharp matte finish photo with 20 member team in "Indians" uniform on baseball field with stadium in bkg. Players names are listed at bottom and includes #23 Rogers Hornsby in front row center.  Back of photo is held in place with double-sided cellophane tape and white margins under mat are worn with a few tears which go a bit into image area at bottom center and upper left side. VG but displays VF as matted. This Minor League team played in the Texas League in 1909, and 1933 to 1942. Rogers Hornsby, considered to be one of the best batters of all time with a career average of .358, is second only to Ty Cobb. Besides managing the team, Hornsby had one at bat in one game with a hit at age 44. He also co-managed the team for a short time in 1941. A unique and historical image.
