Item Description
8.25x11" slick paper promo sheet issued as insert in "Oakland Tribune" newspaper has a total of 30 photos including 29 team members wearing Oakland baseball caps. Each photo has name and position underneath. Includes Billy Martin Second Base, HOF Coach George Kelly, manager Chuck Dressen,  and coach Cookie Lavagetto. c. 1949 sheet has horizontal fold through center as inserted in newspaper with a few lt. handling creases. Lower right corner of front has small inked line. Overall Fine. The Oaks played in the Pacific Coast League and Charlie Dressen had just taken over from HOF'er Casey Stengel as manager in 1949 when Stengel became manager of the New York Yankees. The team finished second place in 1949 and won the pennant in 1950. Very limited regional distribution, likely just issued one day. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
