Item Description
Each is approx. 3-3/8x5-3/8". Most are early 1900s. Scenes include owner in doorway of battery charging shop with signs promoting Exide, uniformed men standing in doorway of tobacco shop which has outside sign promoting Tom Keene cigar with Pepsin Gum machine attached to doorway, woman sitting in office which appears to be calendar publisher, delivery boy with bicycle in front of flower shop, man behind counter of shoe store, woman in doorway of stationery and confectionery store, three men standing in doorway of John Muir hairdresser and perfumer store, and man standing outside barbershop with pole nearby. One shows inside lunch counter with stools and various products behind counter which are c. 1940s. Makers include Azo, Cyko, Eke. Two cards are postally used, a few cards have a trace of lt. dust soil here and there. Card with woman in calendar company office has hairline creasing. Just Fair, rest are Fine/VF. Interesting slice of merchandising history. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
