Item Description
From the Estate of Peter J. Vorzimmer, co-author of the 1967 NASA Project Gemini Chronology book. See item #1046 for Vorzimmer biography. Glossy photo has been professionally framed and matted to 7x9.25" in a 12.25x14.25" brushed aluminum frame w/UV glass. Photo shows inside view of Gemini 12 capsule w/Lovell and pilot Buzz Aldrin in full spacesuits. Lovell has signed in black felt tip pen. Exc. Gemini 12 was the final Gemini mission and was launched on Nov. 11, 1966 and was designed to perform rendezvous and docking w/Agena Target Vehicle, conduct three Extravehicular Activity (EVA) operations, conduct a tethered stationkeeping exercise, perform docked maneuvers using the Agena propulsion system to change orbit, and demonstrate an automatic reentry. A great piece from a NASA insider present during the Golden Age of manned space exploration. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA COA.
